Nestled on nearly 600 acres of beautiful land in Oneonta, Alabama, Dirty Donkey Ranch is a labor of love and a dream in the making. Since acquiring our property in 2023, we’ve spent the past two years restoring and preparing the land to create a safe, happy, and vibrant home for our animals.
Our passion for donkeys inspired the ranch’s name, but our vision extends far beyond! Once our barn is completed, we’ll be welcoming a lively and diverse family of animals: Scottish Highland cows, alpacas, goats, peacocks, geese, swans, and, of course, our beloved donkeys. Each animal will have plenty of space to roam, graze, and thrive in a natural, nurturing environment.
Dirty Donkey Ranch isn’t just about animals—it’s about creating a sanctuary where people can connect with nature, enjoy the beauty of rural life, and share in our joy for these incredible creatures. We can’t wait to open our doors, share our love for livestock, and build a community around kindness, curiosity, and respect for all living beings.
While our ranch wine isn’t for sale, we created it as a fun way to celebrate the spirit of the ranch—wide open skies, beautiful sunsets, and the joy of sharing time with friends and family. It’s just one more way we bring a little personality to Dirty Donkey Ranch.
Around here, we like to say good wine pairs perfectly with fresh country air… and the occasional donkey bray in the background.
Two very special members of our family will soon be calling Dirty Donkey Ranch home—our beloved dogs, JJ and Moose. This summer they’ll finally get to enjoy the wide-open spaces of the ranch, exploring the land, soaking up the sunshine, and settling into their new life alongside our growing family of animals.
We’re pretty sure they’re most excited about the endless room to roam… and keeping a close eye on the donkeys.
